The Fallen

There's nothing left but waiting,
Being called a best friend has become mere fashion.
Knowing we're sidekicks in someone’s life,
Yet they deceive us with "You're my favorite person!"
Solitude feels like an island, even surrounded by crowds,
A heart full of unnameable feelings, ineffable and shrouded.

The more I reach out to someone,
The deeper I fall into the dark, undone.
No way to escape the shadows' embrace,
Yet dreams extend a hand to trace the grace.
I sought a shrine as a refuge,
Longing to see my own eyes, not to judge.

I wanted to understand how I’m broken inside,
No tears fell, no shoulders to confide.
No words from others to lift my despair,
Even the clouds drifted by, leaving me bare.
The dream I cherished faded away,
When I needed her most, as I fell astray.
